Google Art Project

If you'd like to spend some of your lunch hour strolling through the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, check out Google's art project

http://www.googleartproject.com/

The Chateau de Versailles is the only Parisian museum currently offered on the site, but is well worth the time spent. The "street view" experience is a little too grainy in places, but the ability to zoom in on specific art works creates a wonderful sense of discovery.

For each museum featured, there is one work that Google has photographed at a "gigapixel" resolution.  For Versailles, they chose Vigee-Lebrun's gorgeous large-format portrait of Marie-Antoinette and her children, which is a fun way to experience the wispy touches of rococo blues and pinks that characterized Vigee-Lebrun's style.
